The revised Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection, in force since 1 September 2023.
Also called: nFADP, nDSG, Swiss DSG
The revFADP (nDSG in German) sets the rules for processing personal data in Switzerland. It requires, among other things, transparent privacy information about what data is collected, why and by whom.
Websites with Swiss and EU visitors usually have to consider both the revFADP and the EU's GDPR.
Why revFADP matters in Switzerland
Analytics, contact forms, chat tools and ads all touch personal data. A clear Swiss privacy policy is part of a trustworthy Swiss website.
Our tip
Have your privacy policy reviewed for the revFADP when you launch a Swiss version – this is legal work, not SEO work.
