The map with usually three businesses that Google shows for local searches such as «tax advisor Zug».
Also called: map pack, 3-pack, Google Maps results
The local pack appears above or between the classic results when a search has local intent. It is fed by Google Business Profiles; distance, relevance and prominence (reviews, links, mentions) decide who appears.
On mobile, the local pack often takes the whole first screen.
Why Local pack matters in Switzerland
In Swiss cities such as Zurich, Geneva or Basel, the local pack is very competitive for services. In smaller towns a complete profile with reviews can be enough to appear.
Our tip
Make sure your Google Business Profile category matches the main search – this is the strongest local-pack factor.
